Your booth is your storefront. In the first 3 seconds, a shopper decides whether to stop or keep walking. Here's how to make those seconds count.
The 10x10 Golden Rules
1. Create a "doorway." Don't block your booth entrance with a table. Pull your table back 2-3 feet from the front edge to create a welcoming entry point. Shoppers are far more likely to engage when they can step into your space.
2. Go vertical. Eye-level displays sell 40% more than table-level ones. Use shelving risers, pegboards, or hanging displays to fill the vertical space. Your booth should look full from 20 feet away.
3. Anchor with a hero product. Place your best-selling or most eye-catching item at the front center. This is your "stop and look" piece -- it pulls people in so they discover everything else.
The Essentials Checklist
- 10x10 canopy with weights (not stakes -- many venues don't allow them)
- Tablecloth that reaches the ground on all sides
- At least one vertical display element
- Price signs visible from 5+ feet away
- Business cards or a QR code linking to your website/Instagram
- A card reader (Square, Stripe, or similar) -- cash-only booths lose 30%+ of potential sales
Pro Tip
Take a photo of your setup from 15 feet away. If you can't immediately tell what you sell, your signage needs work. The #1 rule: a stranger should know what you offer in under 3 seconds.
